BEAUTY FROM EVERY ANGLE....

This is the patio of a house I dream of,
with a lush of green plants that soothes the fragile nerves.
But this belongs to my sister in-law. Alhamdulilah, she is able to share it with members of the extended family.
She is a retired teacher in Arts Education and her house is indeed beautiful.
Below is her wet kitchen and I always enjoy  telling "grandmother stories" with her there for hours on end. It is a comfortable place to talk about little things but of some significance in our life.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Her culinary skills
is the pride of the family
and her excellent  taste in food
always become the family example
and the family always look forward to accepting her invitation
whenever she has the time to share her new recipes.

In between the "grandmother stories"
we would talk about our experience in life
especially with the demise of our parents.
We are now the elders in the family and
we would discuss how we could pass on family legacies
to the younger generation.

Family bonding through sharing good food cultivates intimacy
and warmth among family members in a free and easy atmosphere.
We cultivate the spirit of "jumaah" in a conducive manner.
Unity is strength and we must start nurturing strength
among the family. Only then can they contribute to strengthening unity among the "ummah".
"A family that dines together, stays together"

In between humour and laughter I would remind the young
never to forget reading and understanding the Quran. Practicing the contents together with the Traditions of the Prophet Muhammad saw,
will make life more meaningful.

"It is He Who has
Spread out the earth
for (His) creatures;

Therein is fruit
And date-palms, producing
Spathes (enclosing dates);

Also corn, with (its)
Leaves and stock for fodder,
And sweet smelling plants.

Then which of the favours
Of your Lord will ye deny?"

The Quran, Chapter 55, Ar Rahman, verses 10-13.

Till the next time, insyaAllah...Salam.
