I
His full name is Jalaluddin Rumi.
I received a couple of interesting postings through my Kg Tunku whatsApp group on the sayings of Ar Rumi. I picked these two as examples. I find it enlightening and hence I am sharing it here.
I went on a package tour of Turkey some 3 years ago and the tour guide took the group to witness a "cultural" show as depicted on the cover of this book above. Sufism is a field I like to explore but to date I have not progressed far. In Malaysia I used to follow a group, when I was in my early forties, that indulged in solitary meditation in an attempt to to understand ones existence vis-a-vis the existence of Almighty God Allah. One of the personalities introduced to me and to a few others is Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jailani. I am still far from understanding the whole concept of "being one with Allah" but I have not totally given up the idea of how one can totally be in total submission with Allah Almighty.
But as the saying goes, a trip of a thousand miles, starts with the first step. Therefore I am moving on in very slow steps so I do not miss the the Right path as prescribed in the alQuran and the Hadiths.
And today I love to share some wise words from Ar Rumi below which I took from the book above.
"When you read a book,
You ask who the writer is.
When you see a nice building, You wish to know who the builder is.
Have the Heavens and the Earth no owner?
When one thinks of it, one understands,
That everything proves to us
That there is a great and Almighty God.
The above quotes is from google search. And the bird above is SmarTop's. (Learning the Greatness of Allah's Creations). And incidently it is this bird that prompts me to write this little postings...by the Grace of Allah. Let us ponder on this verse of the alQuran .
(A-li'Imraan 3:191) Men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth, (With the thought): "Our Lord! not for naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire.
In one part of his book he says: "WE CANNOT THINK OF THE NATURE OF GOD WHO IS BEYOND ANY SHAPE OR IMAGE. And the Prophet of Islam commanded his community: "REFLECT ON THE BLESSINGS OF GOD. DO NOT REFLECT THE BEING OF GOD".
We can understand God Allah by means of His Beautiful Names and Attributes. And through His Creations we can feel. Everyone looking at His Creations will understand and feel God Allah according to their level of understanding and also according to the Grace of God Allah most Knowing most Loving.
And without Grace and the Bounty of God Allah alMighty we cannot find a way from our hearts towards HIM.
I may not be saying much of the greatness of Rumi as a Sufi and neither am I making a lot of sense in what I wrote above. Sufism is a difficult subject.
Bear with me, and supplicate to Allah with this Du'a ( prayer).
Aameen ya Rabb...

Are you really into sufism.
I find it hard to go beyond what I am doing, and I believe I am safer being with the selected masses standing on a firm ground rather than trying for the peak. A fall may not be worth the effort. Good luck to what you aspire to be.
Thank you for your concern. I will be careful and I always ask for GUIDANCE so that I am on the Right Path all the way. May His Love and Compassion grace my every move.
Aameen...
