SHAMELESS SHAME,

"Shame on you", says a friend one day when I told him the reason why I could not travel. "The Immigration Department freezes my Passport because the Department of Inland Revenue asked them to do do so". "How could you have failed your responsibility being a senior government officer." I smiled. Its not my fault, really because the Public services department did not deduct my gratuity when they make payments on what was due to me on the day I retired from the Public Service.

But all is well now. My dear brother-in-law paid my dues. I must thank him on my blog, and believe me I will be thanking him again and again. Where in the world can you find a brother -in-law like that. In fact I thank all my in- laws for the great favor they did on me. And so now I could travel "the world" again. No, I'm kidding. I am just enjoying "my newly found freedom." That's one of the greatest gift you could ever have. Alhamdulillah. All praises be to Allah the All Mighty that has made all this possible.

And the great discovery I found during my "problem days" is that I am not the only one in this predicament, ( civil servants inclusive). So what I thought was something to be ashamed of, it was indeed no big deal. A problem is a problem. It can come in different shapes and sizes. I am an Honest Civil servant, so be it. Indeed it is a shameless shame. Or can it be any other way?...

Salam sobah. Goodness..there are comments as such? The first time l heard about your plight i was wondering how could i be of help? i presume those who comment on shame didn't realise what is in store for your bro i law for facilitating you. People have different paradigms actually. Sadly the rich fail to realise their responsibilities to ease others burden, i mean the burden we don't do on purpose. If you observe lately we are trapped in a situation of 'begging mentality' to get help. I think its much more touching if we 'beg' Allah's help in this world and the next with the common doa in our daily prayer. keep up your 'freedom' and lets jaulah (travel) again and again...that's one of my many wawasan actually. wassalam

Dear sahabat, you know it takes all kind of people to make this world. But if we really focus on what is ordained by Allah on all of us, then we will see why this world is the best place to be.
